Radiator
In a radiator, the heat generated by a water-cooled internal combustion engine is transferred to the surrounding air by means of coolant. During this process the heated coolant will be cooled down to the point where the engine will not overheat.
Radiator
A radiator consists of a network thin tubes connected by fins. These tubes contain coolant that circulates through the engine. As the coolant flows through the tubes, heat generated by the engine is transferred to the fins. Airflow, caused by the fan or driving wind, dissipates the heat from the fins, cooling the coolant before returning it to the engine.
IMPORTANCE OF A PROPERLY FUNCTIONING RADIATOR
A properly functioning radiator is crucial to maintaining the engine's optimal operating temperature. Here are some reasons why the radiator is so important:

RADIATOR MAINTENANCE

- Cleaning the radiator: Regular cleaning of the radiator is essential to optimise heat dissipation. Remove dirt, insects and other contaminants that may accumulate on the cooling fins. Use a soft brush or compressed air to do this.
- Check for leaks: Check regularly for any leaks around the radiator. Leaking coolant may indicate a problem with the radiator and should be fixed as soon as possible.
- Check coolant levels: Make sure the coolant level in the radiator is at the correct level. If necessary, top up coolant according to the manufacturer's specifications.
