Camping with a roof tent is the most luxurious and suitable way of camping, you arrive, you open your roof tent and you are ready for the night. You don't have to worry about finding a suitable camping place.

Expedition
An expedition is a (4x4) journey of which the duration and the route is predetermined. This means that the right choice can be made depending on the destination and climate. Usually hardcover tents are chosen for this because they are the fastest to set up. Unless there is not enough space on the roof.

Overlanding
Overlanding is a long-distance journey where only the departure date is fixed in advance. Because this usually concerns travel routes away from civilization in all possible circumstances, the requirements for your roof tent are the highest. For this we only recommend tents with a high quality textile and mattress.

Cold climate
Contrary to what most people think, it is pleasantly warm in a roof tent quite quickly. You do not lie on the cold surface like in a normal tent, but higher on the vehicle. So cold cannot rise from the ground. The right blankets or sleeping bags make the difference here. All roof tents provide protection against the rain, only in long wet areas (Scotland, Iceland, ..) a tent must be chosen that also dries up quickly.

Warm climate
In a roof tent it is rather too warm than too cold. For warmer climates, choose a tent with windows and doors large enough to provide adequate ventilation to avoid a warm sleepless night.
