With this wiring harness, the light switch for low and high beam is easily relieved. The use of (too) thin wiring and possible wear or oxidation on the standard wiring harness creates a high load on wiring and switch. The consequence of this is that the light output is not optimal and/or the light switch sooner or later becomes defective. By using two watertight relays and fused sheathed power cables, the load is relieved on the switch and the lighting is powered directly from the dynamo. The result is a longer switch life, increased reliability and optimal lighting.
This circuit has its origins in the "Swedish light amplifier". Due to the poorly lit roads and the long dark period in the winter season, high wattage lamps are often used for lighting in Scandinavia. Due to the high power of these lamps, the standard power supply via the wiring harness is not sufficient and a similar solution is used.
The wiring harness is fully assembled and ready for installation in the vehicle. All connections are insulated and the power cable is provided with additional insulation. To prevent damage, the set is equipped with ceramic H4 connectors, the power supply is also equipped with a separate waterproof fuse holder (incl. fuse).
Due to the unique design, the boomslang can be used on both old and new vehicles without any adjustments that are required on the original wiring harness.
